Smart Street Lighting in Berlin 2010
Ingemar Johansson participated the conference Smart Street Lighting in Berlin 2-3th December 2010 as lecturer.
Ingemar was talking about the maintenance plan in Gothenburg, ISL possibilities for a city how to be energy efficient and the importance of sustainability. He also introduced the participants to the Esoli project for EU where the City of Gothenburg is one of the Work package leaders.

Some comments from Smart Street Lighting in Berlin 2010
Most countries have started up ISL projects but mainly in the big cities.
Networking is poor when it comes to ISL and that leads to a national development instead of international development which would save energy, money and working hours.
Radio frequency is the solution to press the prizes for ISL
Could, should and would we focus on LED only for the street lighting?
The EU directive for open ISL protocols has had the effect that e.g Philips now has a system where you can use all kinds of luminaries in it
The maintenance costs for tunnels is very high so therefore are LED an interesting product solution for that market
Feedback plans, creative funding options how is the approaching working out for ISL.
The footprint for the LED chips is going to be the same in the future meaning that you can exchange the chip in the luminaries and be up dated with the latest technology.
